Living for the City
=The art of Ishmael Duenas=
Ishmael Duenas is a long time Phoenix artist and graphic designer, who began as a graffiti artist in the early 90's and was even a mentor of sorts to (back then) upcoming aerosol artists and muralists such as El Mac, Breeze, Deny and others.
After slowing down with graffiti art in the late 90s, Ishmael started pursuing gallery exhibits, eventually taking a break to work towards his BFA from ASU.
Ishmael Duenas has been making his way back into the Phoenix art scene in recent years by producing more canvas work and finding his love again for the aerosol medium and has collaborated on a couple murals with his signature style of cartoonish and colorful brick building series.
